🧴 Service Lubricants in Prony Brake Dynamometry—Built to Evolve

In the early years of Prony brake development, specific synthetic lubricants like RML405 and CM5X were required by manufacturers to serve as standard service lubes. These formulas supported early designs, but as dynamometers grew in size and torque-handling capacity, so did the demands for durability and heat resistance.

After extensive research and development, Dyno Tech successfully introduced a next-generation lubricant—now used across all newly manufactured dynamometers. This advanced formulation has proven to:

  • 🛠️ Extend service life under high-torque loads
  • 🌡️ Maintain integrity during prolonged friction testing
  • 🔄 Deliver consistency across a wide range of operating environments

While CM5X remains available for light-duty applications, Dyno Tech anticipates its gradual phase-out in favor of superior solutions already incorporated into our rebuilds and servicing of legacy models.
